Installation & User Guide:
1 – Download and install the app from the website.
2 – Open the app and enter a username when prompted. This will serve as your address in the app and will be used by your friends to send you files.
3 – To add friends to your friend list, click the friend icon in the app and enter their username in the search bar. Alternatively, you can ask them to add you to their friend list by providing them with your username. You can also view and accept friend requests in this window.
4 -To send files to your friends, click the checkbox next to their name in your friend list and then drop your files in the “drop here” box that appears. Your files will be transferred immediately.
5 – To receive files from your friends, simply wait for them to send you a file. Incoming files will be stored in the designated folder on your computer, which you can access by clicking the folder icon in the app.

We have identified some known issues with Sendit, and have compiled a list of solutions for the most common problems. If you encounter any issues while using the app, please check the list below to see if there is a solution that can help:
Cant install on MAC OSX?
If your antivirus software flags your file transfer app (Sendit) as malicious, you can try adding it to the software’s list of exceptions. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open Sendit and click on the “install” button.
- If you see a warning message from macOS saying that Sendit cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer, click on the “OK” button to close the message.
- Open the “System Preferences” app and click on the “Security & Privacy” icon.
- In the “Security & Privacy” window, click on the “General” tab and look for a message that says “Sendit was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer.”
- Click on the “Open Anyway” button to allow Sendit to run.
- If you are asked to confirm your decision, click on the “Open” button to proceed.
Where are files located?
When you download a file using Sendit, it will be stored in the main download folder of your computer. On Windows, this folder is typically located at c:/download. On Mac, the default download folder is located in the ‘Downloads’ folder within your home directory.
You can access these folders by opening your file manager (such as Windows Explorer or Finder) and navigating to the appropriate location. Alternatively, you can use the search function on your computer to locate downloaded files by searching for their file name or type.
A friend is sending me a file and it doesn’t show up.
We have noticed that some users may experience issues with receiving files in Sendit when the app is first opened. This is typically due to issues with permissions on the operating system.
If you encounter this issue, simply close the app and then reopen it. This should resolve the problem and allow you to receive files normally.
I am clicking the folder Icon and it doesnt work.
The folder icon in Sendit serves as a button that allows you to access the folder in which your downloaded files are stored. However, we have noticed that some users may experience issues with this button not working properly.
In most cases, this can be easily resolved by simply closing and reopening the app, as this may fix any issues with permissions on the operating system. However, if you continue to experience problems with the folder button, it is possible that you have a different download folder set up on your computer. In this case, you will need to manually create a folder called ‘Sendit’ in your download folder and use this folder to receive files in Sendit.
How do I turn off automatic sync?
Sendit includes an automatic sync feature that is turned on by default. This means that when you add friends to the app, they will be able to send you files and these files will be automatically stored on your computer.
If you prefer to disable this feature and manually accept or reject incoming files, you can do so by clicking on your avatar in the app and finding the toggle for automatic sync. Simply turn the toggle off and you will be prompted to manually accept or reject incoming files.
My username keeps resetting (windows11).
When you first open Sendit, you will be prompted to enter a username. This username serves as an address for you in the app, and is used by your friends to send you files. It is also attached to your computer’s IP address, which helps to ensure the security and privacy of your file transfers.
We want to assure you that we do not store the IP addresses of any of our users on any servers. We are committed to protecting your privacy and security, and have implemented the anonymous user protocol to ensure that your IP address is not logged or stored by the app.
However, if you are using a router or computer with a dynamic IP, it is possible that your IP may change over time. This could cause your username to be lost when you close the app and reopen it after a long period of time.
We are aware of this issue and are working to find a solution. In the meantime, if you do encounter issues with your username being lost, you can simply enter a new one when prompted and your friends will be able to send you files using the new address.
